Who needs stuff?
I will be leaving my Guatemalan townhome for somewhere in Houston, TX in exactly 5 weeks.
The reason I think Houston, the home of my maternal grandparents, might be the right place for now is because it is close enough to family to be of use to them, strategically near an international airport, and also the home of some colleagues I want to reunite with.
I have only accomplished a few more things in preparation for this move:
packed up some clothes
designated some items for sale
Neighbor has vacuum. 2 bags sealed and packed.
Scale borrowed.
Suitcase is not that heavy (not too heavy for the plane), but shipping the suitcase is hella expensive.
Progress over perfection or something, right?
We are trying another community-wide garage sale next Saturday.
You know what else I realized? I hate most of my clothes. I don't want any of them. The problem is that I don't really see clothes I want to buy either. So, I don't know what that is a forecast of.
Updated moving to do list - posted online for accountability:
FINISH the sales document for my colleagues to buy from me.
Decide what is worth the shipping price
Decide where my shipped items will be shipped to (or who will help my 92-year-old grandmother receive my items in an unobtrusive way)
Stay tuned for photos of all the outfits that were cute once but are underwhelming now.
