Escapism won’t accomplish for you what you hope it will.
That’s what I learned living 2 years in Guatemala City.
You’ll have to come back to yourself. And when you do, you’ll probably have to go home.
There’s nothing wrong with this journey. It’s one of the many many ways to “skin a cat,” as my mama used to say.
Just know before you leave, you’re either gonna have to keep running, or you’re coming home sooner than you thought.
To be honest, if you’re hard headed like me, but still introspective and open to lessons, go ahead and get the dramatic escapism out of the way so you can hurry up and do whatever home was supposed to do.
The comfort of home will make you move slow. Doing something reckless will hurry the process along.
